Why the Name Change?
If you’ve known us as Lititz Area Mennonite School (LAMS), you may be wondering why we’ve changed our name to Catalyst Christian School. The short answer is this: our mission hasn’t changed, but our name now reflects it more clearly.
Honoring Our Roots
For decades, LAMS faithfully partnered with families to provide a Christ-centered education rooted in biblical truth, strong relationships, and deep spiritual formation. That foundation remains firmly in place. We are grateful for the Mennonite heritage and local community that shaped who we are today.
Why a New Name?
As our school has grown, we recognized that our name no longer fully captured the heart or scope of our mission.
“Lititz Area” unintentionally limited perception of our reach
“Mennonite” sometimes caused confusion for families who shared our faith but not that specific background
“LAMS” lacked clarity and emotional connection for new families
Through prayer, listening, and community input, it became clear that we needed a name that expressed not just where we’ve been, but where God is leading us.
Why Catalyst?
A catalyst sparks transformation.
At Catalyst Christian School, we believe education is more than information, it’s formation. Our role is to ignite faith, form leaders, and launch students into lives of Christ-centered influence.
Faith is ignited through a biblical worldview woven into every part of school life
Leaders are formed through academic excellence, mentorship, and character development
Lives are launched with purpose, prepared to serve, lead, and impact the world for Christ
The name Catalyst reflects who we have always been, and who we are intentionally becoming.
Same School. Clearer Vision.
This change was made with care, prayer, and the voices of families, students, alumni, and supporters. It does not erase our history; it builds upon it.
We remain deeply rooted in Christ, committed to excellence, and devoted to walking alongside families.
Catalyst Christian School is more than a new name, it’s a declaration of purpose.
Igniting Faith. Forming Leaders. Launching Lives.
