Serving Together for the Future of Catalyst
Our Board of Directors provides leadership, wisdom, and oversight as Catalyst Christian School pursues its mission of Christ-centered education. United by a shared commitment to our school’s mission and values, these individuals faithfully serve to help guide Catalyst as we equip students to grow in faith, develop as leaders, and prepare for the lives God has called them to live.

I am a patron at Catalyst and have 3 children attending in grades 5th, 7th and 9th. I coach the Middle school boys' soccer team at Catalyst. I am also the current board chair. My wife Emily and I attend Grace Point in Ephrata. I own and operate a Power Washing & Solar Washing business in Denver. I enjoy sports, hunting, and riding motorcycles. I am honored to be part of this school board, and I am excited to see what God has in store for Catalyst.

A 3rd-generation owner at Paul B. Zimmerman, Inc., I’ve spent 23 years with the family business, currently serving as HR Business Partner. As a 2002 CCS graduate, I’m deeply grateful for the Biblical foundation built during my time at Catalyst—where my wife, Jaime, also serves on staff. We live in Ephrata with our four sons: Aiden, Tate, Rhett, and Maddex. Outside of HR and church leadership at Indiantown Mennonite, you’ll find me playing basketball, disc golf, or heading to our family cabin in Centre County.

My name is Patrick Zook, and I have been married to Amy for 16 years this fall. We have three children; Isabel (8th), Willam (6th) and Micah (3rd), who all attend Catalyst. We chose Catalyst Christian School because of its strong family involvement, the focus on character development, and a firm Christian education to support what is being taught at home. I am a partner at Lanco Mechanicals, a plumbing and electrical contractor, where I hold the role of President. Lanco Mechanicals is a 2nd-generation family business that was founded in 1991. We attend Ephrata Community Church, where we volunteered in youth ministry for several years and are currently teaching 4th grade and serving on the Finance Committee. I enjoy traveling with my family, mountain biking, and golf.

My name is Joel Martin. I have been married to my wife, Kari for over 20 years, and we have four daughters who currently attend Catalyst (LAMS) where I also attended. I work at Martin Paving Inc. where I am one of the owners and work in sales. I am a member at Hinkletown Mennonite Church where I oversee the sound and multi-media department. Some of my hobbies are hunting, playing soccer, and going on vacations with my family. I appreciate the role LAMS played in my life as a child and the role it plays in my own children’s lives. I pray that Catalyst will continue to stay biblically based and impact the children for Jesus.

Hello, my name is Krista Hurst. My husband Darwin and I have been married for 18 years. We attend Ephrata Community Church. Our three children enjoy attending Catalyst; Emerson (7th), Sullivan (4th) and Aniston (2nd). Our family has been part of Catalyst for 6 years and feel so blessed by the Christ-centered, supportive, and caring environment this school provides! I am a fitness enthusiast who also enjoys caring for our mini-homestead, spending time as a family, and craves a good cup of coffee and a puzzle on a rainy day! My prayer is that we can continue creating a safe environment where our children have the resources to develop and grow into their God given gifts, talents and callings.

I am currently employed by FCCB - First Citizens Community Bank as a Lending Team Leader. My wife, Briana, and I attend Mount Joy Mennonite Church and are active in many aspects of the church. We enjoy welcoming visitors into the church and connecting with other young families. We have been blessed with 4 children, the three oldest of which are school age and are enjoying kindergarten, 3rd, and 5th grade at Catalyst Christian School. Even though only attending LAMS for 8th grade, the school had a profound impact and was formative in shaping my high school experience and beyond. Both Briana and I have seen the blessing that the school has been for our daughters, and we seek to further the Kingdom through the support of the school and its vision.
